Age-Specific Learning
Students in Years 5-8 undergo a significant cognitive shift from concrete to abstract thinking, which fosters greater curiosity and independence as they begin to define their values and perceptions of life.
The Pacific Group of Christian Schools pioneered a tailored Middle School environment in 1997, to meet this need, complete with specific programs, resources and learning spaces.

The Whole Child
In Middle School we believe in nurturing all aspects of a student's life, including their spiritual, emotional, social, and physical development. Our approach to education incorporates this holistic perspective into our learning programs.
We also encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities to further their growth outside the classroom.

Serving Our Community
Service to others is one of the pillars of our School culture. We encourage our students to consider their God-given giftings and look for ways in which they can be utilised to serve the Pacific Valley and Clarence River communities.
There are many benefits to serving, including developing courage, compassion for others and leadership skills.
Seamless Transition
The conventional education system transfers students from a key teacher in Primary School to multiple teachers in High School. This change can be overwhelming for students whilst they navigate their personal development.
Middle School has become a proven initiative in helping students to navigate those differences. The result is uninterrupted learning and growth which prevents students from becoming disconnected or falling behind.
Home Room Teacher
Year 5 and 6 students have a Home Room Teacher for most of their core subjects
Specialist Staff
Science, Technologies, Visual Arts, and Music are taught by specialist staff
Gradual Change
Each year, students make a gradual change to more specialist teachers
Prepared For Senior School
By the end of Year 8, the students have been prepared for school life in Senior School
Middle School implements the NSW curriculum and provides customised subjects aligned with NESA's key areas.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 4:6-7

A place to call home
Middle School features a Home Room and Home Room Teacher, who is specifically trained to understand and meet the unique needs of young adolescents. The Home Room Teacher assumes a pastoral role and strives to establish a strong connection with each student. This connection fosters a sense of safety and familiarity, providing students with a comfortable learning environment.

Christian Education in Community
Middle School students are part of a nurturing Christian community where dedicated teachers recognise each child's unique gifts and talents. Our goal is to help your child grow their skills and serve the community, while all learning is approached with a Biblical worldview.
Spiritual growth is so important to us that students attend a Pastoral Care class every day.
